All the Magic, Elevated.
Where we learned we're not so different — six days at Lake Atitlán and beyond.
Guatemala is where Noonday's travel story really took root. It was in the villages ringing Lake Atitlán where we learned how when we look across the globe, we don't see strangers, we see ourselves. This is where you'll settle into a more lavish lakeside stay, where artisan women will teach you how to dye your own thread, string your own bracelet, and sit together to share stories. You'll take a unique Mayan cooking class and wander markets — with the option to arrive above it all, via helicopter from Guatemala City.
From the lake, you'll travel to colonial Antigua for an equally elevated stay — charming cobblestone streets giving way to your choice of a volcano hike, a flower workshop, or an afternoon at the spa.
Come expecting volcanoes, vibrant color, and unhurried mornings. Leave with the same lesson we did: dignified work has the power to break generational poverty, one mama providing for her kids at a time.

I’ve had the incredible opportunity to travel with Noonday to meet the artisan partners who create our products — and every trip has left me changed. I’m heading back to Guatemala, and excited to invite others to come and meet the artisans, see how their work transforms their communities, and experience Guatemala’s culture and beauty firsthand.

Traveling with Noonday has been the greatest experience of my life — vibrant people, rich food and dance, incredible shopping, and beautiful places to rest, guided by trusted local experts. From India to Ecuador to Vietnam, I've come back more alive each time. I'm excited to take you to one of my favorite places in the world.
Where connection comes first.
Arrival
Arrive in Guatemala City and travel together to Lake Atitlán — or add on an optional scenic helicopter transfer for a quicker trip and sweeping views of the volcanoes below. Settle into your more lavish lakeside stay before a relaxed welcome dinner, where you'll get to know your fellow travelers and begin the journey together.
Threads
Boat across Lake Atitlán to San Juan la Laguna, where you'll take a Mayan cooking class and then dye your own thread by hand alongside Ana and the artisans in her workshop. As you work side-by-side, learn what this craft has made possible — doors opened for their families that didn't exist a generation ago. Wander the markets of Panajachel before heading back to the hotel.
Sisterhood
Take another fun boat ride this morning to meet up with Rosario and her fellow artisans, stringing your own bracelet together as they share about the mothers before them, and the daughters now growing up with more opportunity because of it. Enjoy a taco bar lunch together before heading back to the hotel for an evening of shopping, swimming, or simply relaxing.
Antigua
Drive to colonial Antigua and check into your charming, boutique-luxury hotel. Spend the afternoon wandering cobblestone streets, browsing local shops, and simply relaxing before dinner at El Comalate, complete with a hands-on tortilla demonstration.
Choices
Today, choose your own adventure: a volcano hike, a flower workshop, curated shopping, or an afternoon at the spa at Casa Santo Domingo. Gather in the evening for a special farewell dinner together.
Homeward
Share one last breakfast before traveling home, carrying new friendships and the same lesson we did: that across the globe, we don't see strangers, we see ourselves.

How physically demanding is this trip?
The Day 5 volcano hike is a moderate hike, if you opt into it. Otherwise, expect some walking on uneven ground here and there, and getting on and off a boat twice.
How is this trip different from the Guatemala Classic trip?
You will enjoy more lavish hotel stays in both Lake Atitlan and Antigua.
Where will we stay?
At Lake Atitlán: Hotel Atitlán, a charming hacienda-style property just outside Panajachel, set on a former coffee plantation — with hand-crafted local furnishings, extensive botanical gardens, an outdoor pool, and panoramic views of three volcanoes.
In Antigua: El Convento, a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Antigua's historic center. Housed in a beautifully restored colonial-era building, it features intimate suites with private terraces and antique-adorned interiors, serene courtyards, a rooftop terrace, and an on-site restaurant blending local and international flavors — with spa services for evenings of total rest.
Where will we fly in/out of?
Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport (GUA). International airfare is not included, so you can have flexibility in how and when you want to book.
Is this trip for ladies only?
Yes — this is a women-only journey, designed for connection and community among female travelers.
Can I travel by myself?
Absolutely — many of our travelers come solo and leave with lifelong friends. If you'd prefer a room to yourself, you can select a single supplement at registration. If you register for a double room without a roommate in mind, we'll do our best to match you with another traveler after registration.
Can I arrive early or extend my trip afterwards?
Yes, absolutely! We recommend arriving early if you can, especially for destinations with significant time changes, to give yourself a jump on adjusting. We'd love to help with recommendations on what to do, and can connect you with our on-the-ground tour operators if you'd like help organizing something bigger. Feel free to reach out!
Do I need to have traveled internationally before?
Not at all. Many of our travelers are brand new to international travel, and our guides are there to help every step of the way — from what to pack to facilitating the group moments that help us reflect, connect, and grow together.
