Details

The Lucky Few Bracelet is designed in collaboration with Mica May, lucky mama of a son with Down syndrome advocating for a more inclusive world. These three arrows have become synonymous with supporting and advocating for our friends with Down syndrome.

Around the world, people with Down syndrome are routinely undervalued. They are denied a quality education, the chance to earn their own money, access to good health care, and the possibility of making choices about their own lives. Their voices are not heard.

Now, through this bracelet, these arrows are helping end the stigma of special needs in Guatemala by supporting inclusion efforts for adult employment through the Margarita Tejada Foundation.

Jessica Honegger and Mica May traveled to Guatemala to collaborate with Noonday’s Artisan Business Partners, Rosario & Alvaro. to design this bracelet. Each one is made with love and care. A portion of the proceeds from purchasing this bracelet will be donated to the Margarita Tejada Foundation.

About the Giveback

Fundación Margarita Tejada

With the spirit of making equity and social, educational and labor inclusion of people with Down syndrome a reality, the Fundación Margarita Tejada, through its comprehensive development programs, provides support from childhood to adulthood. The Adult Life Development Program at Fundación Margarita Tejada is a transformative initiative designed to equip young adults with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their adult working lives. Whether they find opportunities within the foundation or in external employment, our program provides a comprehensive foundation that prepares them for a variety of career paths.

Proceeds from the Lucky Few Bracelet will help fund the Bakery, Preserves, and Food Products Program which offers young adults hands-on experience in the culinary arts. Guided by experienced professionals, participants learn to craft high-quality products while acquiring the skills necessary to thrive in the food industry.
