Joyn began in 2010 when a community of makers came together around the age-old art forms of spinning, weaving, and block printing in their small rural town, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Their vision: to be a different kind of business–a conduit for opportunities in underserved communities, bringing handmade products to people across the world with fairness, equality, and justice.

Joyn manages its own manufacturing, ensuring the utmost transparency and accountability on behalf of every Artisan. They are committed to fair living wages, a safe and wonderful working environment, upskilling opportunities, and profit sharing with the Artisans who work with them. Today, Joyn’s handmade bags are loved all over the world, but their dream remains the same–to create products that are good for people and kind to the planet, proudly made by hand.

The country has a rich history of handcrafts dating back to 5000 BC, including techniques like weaving, pottery, jewelry-making, and metalworking.
