About
Arun’s silver-smithing workshop is so much more than just a workplace. It’s a place of community, safety, and opportunity. Arun and the Artisans who work with him belong to a marginalized community and were born in the same village in the Bengal region. Most of the men never learned to read, and had few opportunities to earn a living with their metalworking skills. But Arun, himself a talented silversmith, had a vision for a brighter future for himself and his fellow Artisans.
He and his team migrated to the city in search of a better livelihood. It was then that they connected with Noonday’s Artisan Business Partner, who helped their business blossom. Today, the Artisans don’t just work together–they also live in the same building. This sense of shared purpose is reflected in the pieces they create, which capture the beauty of collaboration.
