MEET XANH: AN ARTISAN IN VIETNAM
When our Vietnamese Artisan Partner, Hoa, decided to move his business from Hanoi to his hometown of Nghe An, he did so with one concrete goal: to provide job training and opportunities for rural men and women who needed them most. One such individual is Xanh, who makes a living as an Artisan in Hoa’s marble workshop.
Xanh grew up in a village where people live for today. With the frequency of severe storms always present in central Vietnam, and thus the threat of losing their homes, livestock, farmland, and livelihoods, one never knows the misfortunes that tomorrow may bring.
Working on the rice fields was what Xanh believed to be her destiny. But when she saw the opportunity to learn about sanding and polishing Noonday Collection’s marble styles, she knew that joining our Artisan Partner’s team was a path toward security and stability for her family.
Thanks to your purchases, Xanh is now flourishing! Working in our Artisan Partner’s marble workshop has given her the chance to make new friends, build her confidence, provide for her family, and rebuild their home to stand strong no matter how dark the clouds overhead.
